New Charter Members
Beachy Bull Surf Co at 501 Wythe Creek Rd, Poquoson, VA 23662 owner Corbin Johnson. Beachy Bull Surf Co held a Bull Fest event on April 24, 2022, in which VBISM was represented by Lynn Hightower, Ron Swan and Rob Beedie. The event was a success with live music, food, drinks, vendors and collectors. Thank you, Corbin, for your $500.00 donation and your Drop In Charter Membership.
Progress Update
We are excited to finally be making headway, with a special thanks to several board members Bill Frierson, Stephan Michaels and Tim Pope for their endless efforts in securing our spot in the Surf and Rescue Museum. We have a spot in to have Tim Pope’s gracious board collection displayed, as well as several spotlight locations at Coastal Edge Icon and Oceanfront Eats to display ECSC history memorabilia. We are graciously accepting more locations to spotlight their collection of surf artifacts. The spotlight locations are an important part of sharing the legacy of Surfing history in Virginia Beach as well as directing traffic to our main exhibit at Surf and Rescue Museum. Tim Pope’s vintage board collection from the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s and 60’s, his display opens Memorial Day Weekend at Virginia Beach Surf & Rescue Museum located at 2401 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451.
Fundraising Continues
Aimee is continuing to coordinate events from preorders. We did not reach our required minimum pre-order number. If you would like to host a pre order event, please contact Aimee 757-525-5461. We need everyone’s help with filling our pre-order goal for this year. We have the rest of the year to reach it, with everyone’s help.
